Terms of Use

About the site
ElectricalWorkbench.com offers free calculators for planning electrical circuits, currently voltage drop and wire size, with more to come. Using the site means you accept these terms.
Planning estimates, not a design sign-off
Each result comes from published reference data (such as NEC conductor resistance and ampacity tables) and the assumptions listed on that calculator's page. A result is not:
- A replacement for a licensed electrician or an electrical engineer
- Proof that an installation meets the NEC or your local amendments to it
- A substitute for a permit, a plan review or an inspection
- A correction for conditions the calculator doesn't model, such as ambient temperature, conduit fill, bundling or terminal ratings
We work to keep the formulas and reference tables accurate and current. Even so, before you buy wire or energize a circuit, it's your responsibility to have the final conductor size, overcurrent protection and installation method confirmed by a qualified person.
Provided as is
We provide the site and calculators "as is," with no warranties, express or implied. We can't promise the site will always be available or error-free, or that any result will suit your particular installation.
Limitation of liability
As far as the law allows, we aren't liable for any loss, damage or injury arising from your use of the site or from relying on its results. That includes undersized or oversized conductors, failed inspections, equipment damage and rework costs.
Links to other sites
Some pages may link to outside retailers or service providers, and some of those links can earn us a commission (see our Privacy Policy). We aren't responsible for what those sites publish, sell or do.
Embedding our calculators
Any site can embed our calculators for free (see Add a calculator to your site). If you embed one, keep the attribution link in place, don't alter the tool, and don't present it as your own work.
Changes to these terms
We may revise these terms as the site grows, and the date at the top will show the latest revision. If you keep using the site after a revision, you accept the new terms.
