Privacy Policy

In brief

You can use every calculator on ElectricalWorkbench.com without signing up or telling us who you are. We never sell visitor data. Google Analytics tells us which calculators get used so we know what to improve, and in the future some pages may link to electrical suppliers or services that pay us a commission when you buy through them, which costs you nothing extra. The rest of this page explains each of these.

What we collect

Calculator inputs. Values you type into a calculator, such as circuit voltage, load in amps, run length or conductor material, travel in the page request so we can compute your result. We don't save them to any record linked to you.

Usage analytics. Google Analytics (GA4) uses cookies and similar technologies to record general usage information: which pages you view, your rough location (city or region, inferred from your IP address), your device and browser, and interactions such as pressing a calculate button. Google handles that data under its own privacy policy: policies.google.com/privacy.

What we don't ask for: your name, email address, a password or any payment details. The only time we receive personal details is if you choose to email us.

Cookies

The only cookies on this site are the ones Google Analytics sets to count visits and tell new visitors from returning ones. If you block or clear them in your browser, every calculator keeps working; we just won't see analytics for your visit.

Referral and affiliate links

We may add links to wire and electrical-supply retailers, tool sellers or electrician-matching services. If you follow one of these links and buy something or request a quote, we may receive a commission, and your price stays the same. We only add a link where it fits the calculation you just ran. The sites behind these links run under their own privacy policies and terms, and we have no control over them.

Calculators embedded on other sites

Other websites can embed our calculators through our free widget program. An embedded calculator still loads from our servers, so the analytics described above also apply when you use it on someone else's page.

Selling and sharing data

We don't sell personal information to anyone. Analytics data goes only to Google, for the purpose described above.

Children

ElectricalWorkbench.com isn't aimed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect any information from them.

Updates to this policy

If the site changes in a way that affects your data, such as adding a new analytics service or new kinds of referral links, we'll revise this page and change the date at the top.
